New York, New York

I am back from a 5 day university trip to NYC.

It was an eclectic mix of shopping, sightseeing & socialising.

I personally did not buy a great deal (well.. for me anyway!), the shops that i adored the most were a tad out of my price range.  We popped into Macy's & Bloomingdales, the popular department stores but i feel in love with all the boutiques and vintage stores in East Village and the surrounding areas of Greenwich and Soho.  We began the day with an amazing breakfast in 'Clinton St Bakery', a spontaneous find with food simply to die for.  It was snowing, which automatically set the scene.  We pottered around the lower west side for some time, popping in & out of all the quaint little shops.  I found a New York charity shop with a $5 bargain, the 'Economy Candy store' & an array of exciting vintage shops that were just pleasant to browse in.  Every owner of every store immediately greeted you, engaged in conversation & offered their help.  What was interesting, was that, even if you didn't buy anything in their store they still thanked you and bid you farewell.  Something that is not common  in the UK! The finishing touches were carefully thought out, right down to the homemade tote you received your garment in.

Check out my snaps of my highlights in the city that never sleeps...literally.
